So my two male bunnies, both male and about 4 months old got into another fight yesterday as one of them managed to get out of his cage.As soon as he came out they were involved in a vicious fight, which I somehow managed to stop as soon as they started. But after a while I observed scout(the smaller one)was limping and there was some blood, not much so we cleaned it and it stopped. But he is limping.Occasionally while running he’ll be on all his 4 paws but for the rest of time he’ll keep it folded or won’t put weight on it.What do you think it is?A cut/injury or a broken bone? He’s eating and drinking normally and even running all around the house(including jumping on sofas and beds)as usual.I might take him to vet tommorow. But I am really concerned.I tried bandaging it using some non sticky gauge but he doesn’t let me touch it.They both are not neutered and we are keeping them apart until they turn atleast 6 months old.
        Thanks in advance!

It’s very difficult to know, there could be a break or fracture, but it could also be a sprain or strain. A bite is definitely another option, a hard deep bite on the leg or shoulder could certainly cause problems and would bruise quite a lot. Let us know what the vet says, I hope they don’t manage to escape again. How long have they been neutered?

I would keep them in other rooms until they are neutered. Bad fights like that can easily cause them to never bond in the future. Many rabbits hold grudges in cases like this, which will make bonding in the future very hard and in some cases completely impossible. You will also want to go to the vet as soon as possible to have the wound checked out. It could be a broken bone, or it could just be a cut. Either way, it would not be good. A cut can easily turn into an infection or an abscess, which could also get infected. If it is broke, you need to make sure it heals correctly so your rabbit wont be effected by it for the rest of his life. If it is broken and it heals wrong, it can also mess up the tissue and muscles around the bone, causing them to be come weak, causing the rabbit ongoing pain

So it turns out it was just an injury caused during the fight. There was some swelling but there is nothing to worry about! He’ll recover in a couple of days. For all I see he’s already better than before.I am waiting till they get old enough to be neutered (2 months),so they could live together like they used to before
