        Hi!

We’re building a house and my bunny gets a whole room to himself. The room has a 6-foot opening with pocket doors that will probably always be open. I want to find a suitable freestanding gate to put in the opening (instead of keeping the doors shut). Richell has a wide pet gate, but it has painted wood and I’m afraid the slats are too far apart. I’m hesitant about making an unfinished wood gate because of the risk of splinters.

Is metal the best material for gates? Does anyone know of any gate that would be totally bunny-safe and that I could make work for this opening???

        Thank you!

IKEA has wide baby gates you could use (or regulars with extensions).
Four Paws also makes a variety of pet gates.

You could add solid clear plastic to the Richell gate Or some mesh or NIC grids, provided your rabbit is not a climber.
