So i have had my little bun roughly 8 months and she was spayed about a month and a half ago. Muffin used to be very interested in me and my partner but now she doesn’t seem to bother with us. She used to let us pet her until she flopped on her side or sunk in to the floor but now she doesn’t even give us the time to pet her. After her operation we stopped lifting her from her cage for one week in case we irritated her wound but she’s became aggressive when we try to lift her out of her cage i cant help but feel like i’m a bad mummy and she doesn’t love me just now!

        All help/advice appreciated!

I’m having a bit of the same issue, although my boy was neutered and it was only 3 days ago. I don’t think Muffin hates you. It might be because she’s still angry at you for putting her through surgery, or it could be some leftover hormones acting up, perhaps. I’m sorry that I don’t have better advice.

It may be the remaining hormones playing yes and her not wanting you in her territory… could you provide her with a slope down (a plank of wood…?) so she can come out on her own accord – and then I’m sure she’ll be fine with you…. especailly if you have a scrummy treat at the bottom of the slope for her

I hope so! She isnt on a stand, her cage is just on the floor of the room and up until we got her spayed i would just lift her out (directly from the cage to the floor). I tried tonight and managed but it took some time. Its almost as though she is scared of me? She lay down beside the door so i went over and petted her and tried to hand feed her some nuggets and she deliberatley bit my finger (very gently) but she used to come sit beside me and flop over next to me anytime i give her treats or any food she grabs it from me and runs away with it! Thanks though x

Since you were feeding her food, its very likely she wanted to see if your finger was food as well and thats why she lightly bit you. Some rabbits also give little love nibbles like that to say ‘thank you’ Some rabbits like to run away with their treats as a way to be playful. My Bombur enjoys taking his greens and running all over the living room with them, stopping every few seconds to munch. its very funny to watch lol. I would give your rabbit some time and learn with her of the new things she likes to do

She’ll feel any hesitation and will give her time to react (thought they’re quick off the mark anyway!)
So it’s great that you managed it – and her nibbling you is fine too….

Is your hand approaching her face slowly from the side and not right in front of her nose (it’s a blind spot) – they can see so much better from the side – you can even bring your hand up to about 10cm away and then take it away again and repeat gently until she gets ‘bored’ of it and pays no more attention to it.

Time will tell, but you’re fine
