I was given probably 15-20lb bag of pellet that has lasted me around 6months from when I first got my jr. buck. It’s good quality, small batch made in the city I got him from about an hour away but I’m running low and want to get more pellet to begin mixing into his diet. I was really hoping to buy bulk because it’s so much cheaper at feed store price vs pet store price, but I was looking online at TSC and can’t find anything that isn’t mostly wheat middlings/soy bean hulls… yuck!

What brand do you buy in bulk? Was hoping to get a 25lb bag at a time.

        Thanks!

I know some people go pellet free. He gets plenty of hay, leafy and fibrous veggies but I would like to keep him on pellet as well I would be too paranoid he was starving if he didn’t have a constant source of pellet and hay haha

I have heard KMS hayloft (online) has good quality cheap bulk pellets, though I have never used them myself.
I can get a 10lb bag of Oxbow pellets at the feed store for 13$. Not 25lb, but you can’t go wrong with the quality and the price.

KMS is amazing! thank you! I’m going to order from their site <3 <3 I don't really know the difference- which is better, timothy pellets or alfalfa pellets? I have a 6month old neutered buck and a 25lb bag should last close to the rest of the year.

Timothy pellets are definitely better in my experience, as alfalfa pellets, like the hay, are very high in calcium and should only be served as a treat. For a 6month old buck, you can perhaps use a timothy-alfalfa pellet mix if you’d like, but I’d generally suggest Timothy over alfalfa.
