When he walks he kind of drags his back legs/ crawls with them. When he hops sometimes he loses balance or his hind legs will get caught on something. He doesn’t seem to be in pain, he still eats a lot and explores around. He also will stand up on his hind legs to check the room out. His behavior is concerning me that something is not right Let me know what you guys think!

Your bunny needs to see a vet and be checked out. There could be a muscle or joint problem or a neurological problem, among other things. Get him to the vet right away to find out what is wrong and to start treatment. Any delays could make the problem worse.

I would get him to the vet. You want to rule out anything that is treatable (and serious if not treated promptly). If you wait, you run the risk of whatever it is becoming more serious and potentially deadly. And if it turns out to be something genetic or untreatable, then at least you will know for sure.

Agreed that he needs to see a vet to make sure everything is ok. He sounds like my bunny who has splay leg

I took him to the emergency vet not soon after I posted this and they said he probably did something to one of his muscles while playing with my other rabbit. I have medicine for him now and have him separated from my other bun until he looks better. I am not sure how long that should be though!

If it’s muscular, I’d say a week. By then he should be rested enough to be able to play again, but of course not for hours on end. You will of course have to watch him and judge for yourself. If it persists beyond a week, you should countact your vet again and hear if they want to see him again.

Thanks! He is in a big cage right now and still hops around, should I move him to a smaller cage? I want him to have room but I am also worried that he might over stretch himself and hurt himself more :/

A smaller cage could be good for a day or two, maybe just give him a couple of hours in the bigger cage so he can hop around a little, it’s good for the tummy if he moves around. Is he still walking just as funny?

A little, but I have notices that his balance is getting better!
