Hi, so the rabbits I adopted yesterday have some gooey stuff on their face, that has built up.

Is this anything to be concerned about, as they are perfectly healthy otherwise. Any tips for cleaning it up would be appreciated

        Thanks Emmy

Are you sure that your rabbits aren’t currently having any discharge from their eyes or nose? You would need to keep a close watch on that.

You can dampen a washcloth (just water) and gently wipe away anything that is on their faces.

Hi thanks for your reply. I contacted a vet today to ask and they said that he didn’t have it before being sedated and that as he was only just neutered the discharge is from when he was asleep. I will keep an eye on it just in case though.

            Thanks

I didn’t realize that your rabbits had surgery. Vets do apply Vaseline around the eyes before surgery. Vaseline is sticky and gooey and it may be hard to remove completely, but try to gently wipe away as much as possible. I hope that your rabbits are recuperating nicely.
