hey guys, so I have a rabbit room for my baby bun ( Ophiuchus) I lined it with bed sheets, fleece blankets, pillows. Just some of the area of  the room is kind of hard? ( since the room is 8 ft by 7 ft ) I lined it with multiple things but I’m still afraid that it’s too thin and my bunny might have sore hocks. Should I just go and buy more blankets? 

I’m considering buying foam mats  to line the whole room then place sheets, blankets, etc on top.

Some breeds of bunnies or particular bunnies are especially susceptible to sore hocks, however most are just fine walking on harder floors. You can check your bunny’s hocks by pushing away the flap of fur on the heel. A pink callous is fine as long as it doesn’t look inflamed or bleeding.
I think your setup sounds just fine, thought mats can’t hurt if you are concerned. You can also prevent sore hocks by keeping nails at a good length.

Many people have foam-mats the type you put together like a jigsaw puzzle. The main risk is that the bun might eat the mat. Fat from all bunnies do that, but you’ll have to keep an eye. I have a foam mat for one of my buns, tried giving it to the other first but he immediately started chewing it. He didn’t eat it thank goodness, but he took a big chunk out of it. Other bun loves the mat though, it provides excellent traction for binkies and the bunny 500s.
