        Hey everybunny,

So I am in need of some help my 14 week old French lop is really starting to smell. I change the litter box every other day but still the room smells awful. I have noticed that she has started to reach maturity because I am noticing she is digging a being destructive. So I have a couple of questions
        1. At what age is it appropriate to get her spayed? She is not full grown yet but I am wondering if I can do it sooner than later.
        2. Also what do you use for litter to keep the smell down?
        3. How do you keep your home from smelling?

        Any advice is appreciated!

Change it every day then. I change my trios litter boxes twice a day and will spot clean inbetween if i notice a ton of poops or wet spots in one area to help with the smell. Their litter is cardboard based and soaks up a lot of the pee smell. Note, unalters bunnies have more obvious smelling pee. Since shes not spayed (you can usually get them spayed between six months to one year old) that might be why you are smelling it so much

5 months is ready to get spayed – the earlier the better
carefresh is the best imo for absorption and odor.
you can use Nature’s Miracle’s products – i heard is really good at removing stains and odor every time you clean out the litter box.

Agreed with Mikey, changing a litterbox everyday can definitely decrease unwanted odor and also give the rabbits their clean litterbox. I like to change twice a day. Every week, you can clean with some full-strength white vinegar mixed with water, and that should decrease some odors.

I’ve heard good things about PDZ stall freshener, it is safe for use with baby horses and ferrets and I know a woman who uses it for her 20 buns.

Ever since my bun was spayed her litter doesn’t really smell as much anymore. Or maybe I’m used to it. I change every other day.

Ever since I switched over to compressed pine pellet litter, or horse stall bedding, my rabbits litter box has no odor whatsoever. Even after 2-3 days, usually how often I clean the litter box.
