Gilbert-Moose is about 5 months old and unneutered (they want to wait till we get him all sorted). He had a severe bought of stasis 2-3 weeks ago and was at the vets for 6 nights. He has been doing really well we caught that he has a heavy case of pinworms. I adminstered 0.25ml of Fenbendazole on the 2nd of June.

Gilbert has been producing gross smelling extra Cecotropes all throughout the day some formed and some unformed. I am at a loss he is eatting and drinking could this be because he has such a heavy worm infection. He is on a strict diet of just Hay and a sprinkling of pellets. I did add Alfalfa Hay which turned his regular poops black but they were still good sized regular poops. He is slightly underweight and under a year and I thought it would help him pick up weight.

I can take him back to the vets no problem but wanted to see if anyone had any input first.

Mmm.. maybe get his poop tested for coccidia. Otherwise, it might be gut imbalance and case of cecal dysbiosis.

I think I will give the vet a phone call in the morning.
His gut has been through the ringer and its been a long process of getting his little self sorted.

His Cecotropes (extra ones and unformed ones) smell like old vinegar. Our vets office loves him.
