Mega-bunny (his new nickname ) went for his check up with our vet today. He weighs 8.3 lbs (less than I thought) but she said for the size he is, he really needs to fill out more. So we’re going to work on putting some weight on him (he’s doing a pretty good job so far ). I wasn’t sure if there was a way for the vet to guesstimate an age but she said there is not, unlike cats, dogs and horses, the teeth are not a very good indicator of age. So no way to know, unfortunately. She said her best guess is at least a few years so I guess we will just go with that. It would be nice to have a better idea but oh well’s, if he starts showing senior symptoms we will deal with them when they come up.

Ears look great (what a relief…. cuz of Bindi…..), lungs and heart sound great.

I hadn’t been checking his neuter incisions every day because he was really not keen on it and I didn’t want to stress him out (and I knew the vet would check). One little um….bunny jewel was quite swollen but not infected. My vet decided to do a laser procedure that will hopefully reduce the swelling. No charge for this. A welcome gift for our new bunny. My vet is the best.  He was very much not happy about the procedure but still a good boy. Tried to nip the tech after, though….I don’t blame him.

My vet was supposed to come back in after the laser to check his teeth but she got called away for an emergency. Bindi has to go in next Thursday (another ear infection) so I may bring Sterling back to have his teeth checked. Would be a great bonding session if I can get a helper to go with me.

Love how chill my big boy is. This is he and I waiting for his laser treatment.

How cute! Glad he looks healthy. I asked on the pic thread about his age but I guess this answers it.
