Anyone try wheatgrass for their rabbit?  I want to get some, but don’t know how much to give.  Do they like it?  Is it good for them?

Wheatgrass is fine. I treat it like any other greens, even though it’s technically hay (just fresh, green, growing hay). Mine love it and will mow the how plot down in a few minutes.

I really want to try growing wheatgrass for my boys but I have been unsuccessful in finding the seeds at any store.

I’m thinking of trying either oat grass, or a mix of oat grass and wheat grass

Amazon sell it in UK… https://www.amazon.co.uk/Seeds-of-the-Earth/b/ref=bl_dp_s_web_9794214031?ie=UTF8&node=9794214031&field-lbr_brands_browse-bin=Seeds+of+the+Earth

The wheatgrass was a big hit with Peyton. The cool thing about it is that it regrows and the vitamins and minerals last for one more regrowth before you have to replace the grains or the pot. That’s kind of economical. Better than buying fresh greens at the grocery store.

I used to have a wheatgrass juicer when I was in college and drank shots of wheatgrass! It’s really good for people, so I bet its great for our rabbits.

I would just go to a fodder store, they should sell bags of wheat there (might be 10-20kg but much cheaper than buying smaller bags in supermarkets or health food stores marketed specifically for it). No reason it shouldn’t germinate, just double-check with the staff.

I’ve sown wheatgrass this year and it’s sprouted to 5 cm, I collected the seeds last fall, when they harvest the crops they always miss a little bit along the sides of the fields.

I got black oats from a person who feeds that to his horses. He buys it in small 10 kg sacks (about 20 lbs). I’m planning on sowing some this weekend.

I’ve fed wheatgrass to my rabbits and they seem to enjoy it.

My rabbit likes it. I just can’t seem to keep it from dying or molding so I give up for now lol.
