When my bunny is out of his cage, he will sometimes be sitting completely still on the floor, and then go into a 10 foot or so sprint. He runs as fast as he possibly can around the room, will sit back down, and then do it again. It’s so random! Is he happy/excited, or could this be a sign that he is nervous, on edge, etc.? He is my first bunny, I’m just trying to figure out his behavior.

Usually means they are excited. My Badger does this, but will bolt laps around the couch in the living room instead

My Jack runs bunny 500’s like that whizzing around the room at top speeds and then jumps on the couch. As long as there is no cowering in fear afterwards most likely your bun is happy and just enjoying life and getting out some extra energy.

We call those “zoomies”. My Bindi will do those in a big circle all around the living room. Usually accompanied by binkies.
