        Hey everybody!

I have a 2 year old female Holland lop and I’ve been noticing some very coarse hair coming in on the bottom of her back feet! I was wondering if anyone else has seen this or knows anything about what could be causing it. Should I be trimming it? It grows in very long and much faster than the other hair on her feet! Just curious about it, especially since my other lop doesn’t have this happen to him! Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Well I’m not an expert but far as I know cutting fur from bunny foot is a nono.
It might be better this way so she doesn’t have problems with pododermatitis.
However hope that someone more knowledgeable will reply to you soon. ☺

I think Bruno’s mama (another member) cut the fur on one of her buns’ back feet after consulting with a vet about it. You could PM her or maybe she’ll see the tread.
It is as Niamian says considered a no-no, and you should never cut any hair from the “foot-soles”, but big tufts sticking out On the sides can be cut, never close to the skin though.

My Bindi has mega furry feet and sometimes gets big mats and loose tuffs of hair on the bottom of his feet. I gently remove the tuffs and if the mats are big enough that they are putting his foot off balance, I do trim them very lightly with a trimmer because I’ve read that if mats get big enough, they can put pressure on other parts of the feet which can cause sore hocks. But I’m always super careful not to take off too much.
