My rabbit was gone missing for about a day, and I found him in our yard behind a bunch of bricks that are prone to be homes to spiders, and even possibly scorpions since I live in Arizona. He frequently hides there when he runs out of the house, and by the time I got to check, I noticed he wasn’t reponding to me and making an effort to come out on his own, so I took him out myself.

I noticed one of his eyes had lots of discharge, and he didn’t want to eat or drink. Quickly i put him in a large cage inside with food and water, and over the past couple hours he has become more and more unresponsive.

I know i should have called a vet immediately or taken him to an animal hospital, but they were all closed and I don’t have the money to afford the animal hospital, but will go straight to the vet first thing when they open.

Does anyone have any idea what he might have?? I figured a scorpion sting, but we can’t really tell. Thank you so much

It would be hard to guess what has happened. Do you have someone you could borrow money from to get him seen?
If he’s in pain it’s important he been seen sooner rather then later. Rabbits don’t do well with pain.

If he’s becoming more and more unresponsive you need to get him to a vet immediately. Morning could be too late. If his ears are cold it’s possible he needs to be warm (wrap a hot water bottle in a towel and hold it against him). Encourage eating and syringe feed fluids if he isn’t drinking.
