Hey, weird question I guess, but do bunnies often change their minds about what treats they like?

My bunny March used to LOVE baby carrots and broccoli. But now, whenever I offer them to her, she doesn’t even react at all. she won’t eat them. Now she only likes dandilions and those store-bought veggie puffs which probably aren’t very good for her.

Do rabbits grow out of things like people do? Can she suddenly change her mind again in the future or should I be worried that she’s not eating what she used to love?

Bunnies, just like people, can get tired of certain things and have different tastes as they grow. This is generally not a cause for worry as long as she is still eating hay, drinking, and eating other veggies. She may eat carrots and broccoli in the future, she may not. You can experiment with a variety of greens, small amounts of fruit, etc, to see what else she likes.

Sure, I would think they can tire of something just like people might! There are so many different options on what you can offer. Maybe try some new herbs?

They can absolutely tire of things they used to love, mine do that esp in the summer when they get a wide variety of leaves and grasses and not just boring winter veggies from the store. Carrots aren’t the best thing for rabbits actually, they have a lot of sugar, so contrary to public belief, they don’t need carrots.

It can be a concern though, so you should keep an eye. If there are more food items, particularly hard/tough food, that she won’t eat, she could have dental issues. Bunnies’ inner teeth, the ones you can’t see without an otoscope, can get points on them that makes chewing painful. Keep an eye on size and quality of poop and on hay-consumption. It’s important that she eats lots of hay, it’s good for the teeth.
