Hello all! I am new to the forum (will introduce myself later as well) and I have a few questions I would love some help with! I adopted a bunny 2 days ago! He is the sweetest bunny I’ve personally ever been in contact with. Although, everytime I sit on the floor with him, he tries to hump me. Either my arms or feet. Kind of annoying but it is what it is. His name is Petey and he is an unaltered male. Ding ding there we go that’s why he is humping! I’ve heard neutering can help but he is a senior bunny. They aren’t sure on an exact age but at least 6, one lady thought 8. I feel that he may be too old to neuter. So I’m scared to do so. Is that true?
Also, he has never been litterbox trained, is it too late now? I’ve started the process already but I was just wondering if he will eventually catch on or if he’s too set in his ways at this point?
Another quick question, being a senior unaltered male, can I get him a companion?? If so what sex would be best? A spayed female?
        Thank you!
        ♡Hanna and Petey

He likely is too old to neuter. The older a rabbit is, the harder surgery and anesthesia will be on their little bodies. I wouldnt recommend it, but you can always talk to your rabbit certified vet and see what they would recommend. They might be able to help you out with tactics so you arnt always being humped. You can try giving him a little stuffed animal as a hump toy and see if that helps, for example

I dont think a rabbit is ever too old to learn, this includes learning how to use the litter box. If hes already starting to catch on, thats perfect

Since he is hormonal, i wouldnt get a second rabbit. Hormones can make rabbits aggressive specially if they arnt used to having another animal around. If hes always been a single bun, i would keep him as a single bun
