So it’s been a while since I have be on here but wanted to tell you all lux is still sweet and beautiful as ever but just have a few questions. I still have lux in the blue cage I showed before but try to let her out to run about an 1-2 hours a day since we work a lot but we take her out for snuggles and pets and kisses like 10 times a day . Is she happy you think if she still gives us kisses on the nose and licks our hands?

We went out of town for a night and left lux at my finances parents house and her litter box seems to be drenched more then usual. Could the 20 minute care ride there and back within 24 hours stressed her out where she peed more? Also she peed in her water bowl for the first time in I think months and it was orange and milky. That’s normal right?

Also I’m thinking about getting her a dog cage to run in and set it up so she can still see everyone since her cage is up high. She can’t be a free roming rabbit cause she still gets into things and chews and takes movies off my shelves. While cute we still don’t want to take the chance of her chewing an electrical wire or something.

Also she has been nipping us a little more then usual lately. Any reason why? She will be turning 1 I believe in July late June.

Also about half the time when she pees she sits in her litter box and pees outside of it. Silly bunny.

She also has a little noise when she breaths heavy anything to be alarmed?

          Hey Xxventanaxx! (lol)
Your bunny must adore you if she licks you….any gentle nudging too?
Is she spayed? Sometimes nipping can be because of dominance issues. Also it could be because she wants to get your attention.
I’m not sure what to say about the peeing half-in-half-out of the litter box (that’s pretty silly!), maybe getting a bigger litter box would help?
As for the noise when breathing….does she have dampness around her nose? It could be Snuffles. If not, I’m sure she’s fine (unless you’ve noticed loss of appetite or lethargy)
Rabbits can be stressed out very easily (they can die of fright!) so the car ride might’ve stressed her out a bit. Or the peeing could’ve been because she was nervous so she began to mark her territory more (boys do this, not sure about girls). The color and milkiness of the pee is pretty normal, as long as it’s not too bright of an orange
I love Lux’s name! What kind is she??

The peeing is marking and due to her age and hormones, most likely. If shes not spayed, this is definitely the reason for it

The pee color sounds fairly normal. I remember milkiness being a sign of something, but i dont remember what. Google “rabbit sludge” and see if any of that looks like your bunnys pee. It has to do with diet. The orange pee also has to do with diet

The breathing noises when she breaths hard is not usually good. It usually means they have having a harder time breathing. Perhaps she was playing/running too much and over worked herself. But if this is constant and not always around play time, i would look into what could be causing her to breathe heavily (too hot, allergies, dusty area, ect)

Yes she is spayed she was in December.  She has been biting a little more then lately though so we were just nervous.  I am trying to get her a dog crate to put her in there to have more room to move around and a bigger litter box but we only have so much space.  She doesn’t breath like that all the time so that’s good   and yeah the half and half peeing is silly.  My fiancé went to pick her up to put her back in cage after she ran around for an hour (first time in 2 days) since we were out of town and she charged and bit her.  Is that bad?

I know if I put my hand close to her she runs up and tried to put her head underneath my hand.  Its so cute.  I just wish she would site and cuddle with us but she nips still.  Is it cause shes still young:?

Your little bun could be obsessing over you (its not uncommon), and that would also explain the occasional marking and the nip at your partner. That would be your bunnys way of telling your fiance that you belong to her lol. She also could have just bitten because she wanted more play time since she was cooped up for a few days

Hi xxVentanaxx! So good to hear from you and Lux!!!
Milky urine is not an observandum, rabbits expel excess calcium via their kidneys, it’s a species-specific trait. Bladder sludge is different, it’s thick, cakey and wet-concrete like. Orange pee is perfectly fine.
The noise when she breathes heavily is a little bit concerning though. Is it from her lungs or from her nose (not easy to distinguish perhaps)? Does she seem to tire/exhaust easily?

its from just her nose not her lungs.  and she doesn’t tire easily which is good.  when she runs she RUNS!!  up and down the hall binking everywhere non stop then lays flopped under the chair   I never thought I would love a bunny but she is my pride and joy.  Thinking about a puppy for a playmate or another bun for company when we are gone at work sometimes for 12 hours.  No sludge like pee at all!Ill post some other pics soon.  Shes grown up so much.
