My bunny Twix is super territorial, and by that I mean snippy, flighty, and marking territory. I read the other day that they nip to get attention or because of dominance, and my bunny nips me every time I pick him up (I have to to get him out of his cage because there isn’t a door yet). Why?? And how can I fix it? Also the flightiness…he jumps at the slightest move or noise and will never come near me unless I have a treat (when he’s eating, he’ll let me do whatever I want–even groom him!). My other bunny Jack is super sweet though and I thought maybe, just maybe, Jack’s sweetness will rub off on Twix, but what if the opposite happens and Twix rubs off on Jack? (they’re not neutered but I’d rather not do that yet….)

Sounds like hormones. There isn’t much you can do until he gets neutered, unfortunately. How old is he? He can be neutered as soon as the testicles drop.

Aside from that, most bunnies hate to be picked up, so I would get the door to his cage done as soon as possible so he can get in and out on his own.

FLOOR TIME HELPS! My bunny used to be so nervous around me, so I would increase the ammount of floor time we spent together. I would sit on the floor for HOURS a day until he got comfortable with me. Now I can pick him up for a liitle while before get gets annoyed with me ha !

Floor time wont help with a hormonal rabbit. My Bombur was the same way/a little worse (kicking, biting, boxing, spraying, ect 24/7). It didnt stop during free roam. So he was locked in his cage until we could get him neutered. Extra/longer free roam time helps after hormones are eliminated though (neutering is the only way to stop hormones)

I guess there’s not really anything I can do then (although I will do some more floor time just to get him a little more used to me) because I discovered today my vet charges $210 to neuter……….WAY out of my budget!!! Lol thanks everyone for your help
