it has been SO long since I’ve posted on here. Which is both really great and equally not so great. I no longer feel the need to ask questions about everything, this website has helped me learn so much in my few months of transitioning into the rabbit universe. It’s honestly as if being a rabbit owner takes you out of your own world and puts you smack dab into the center of theirs! LOL. But I do miss the people, so that makes my absence not so great. But I am back now!
Harlow is doing very well! We had a few temperament problems the weeks before and after her spay. I’m happy to report most of them have gone away, and she is back to her old self. With her sassy attitude as big as ever! Harlow loves to thump at me to get my attention. I’ve noticed it more since my first semester of college is over and we’re no longer on the really early morning routine she has been used to. (Her mommy likes to sleep in to noon). She will thump to wake me up, I’ll tell her no and she will sass thump back. She’s so smart and sassy, I’ll start counting to three like you would with a child and she will stop! It’s the funniest thing!
Luke did very well with his neuter! He is still the sweetest thing, just less stinky now! He is the polar opposite of Harlow. I don’t have much to say about him because his personality isn’t as colorful as hers but he has completely stolen my heart! He is hands down the sweetest rabbit. I finally saw him binky for the first time two days ago! It was a wonderful break through moment. He is such a lover, and will rest his read on his cage and beg for lovins. He also makes guinea pig sounds! I think it’s adorable and it’s so different! The lady I bought him from owned a bunch of guinea pigs that he was around, so sometimes I wonder if he even knows he is a bunny When I walk into the room he gets so excited he runs up to the cage, making wheaking sounds like a guinea pig would until you pet him. it’s kind of comforting in a way, because I adopted harlow after my guinea pig of 6 years passed away and even little sounds like that are missed.
Now that winter is over I have started the bonding process and they have been able to go outside for play time! At first, Harlow was aggressive towards him, even though she is smaller i expected it. He was so interested in her he just took it. After a while he gave it back to her and after that they have been pretty okay. Right now I have daily sessions with them on my porch, both of them running around. I did one tub session and then went to the porch, but honestly they are doing SO well! They started molting (my first molt!) And let me tell you I was not prepared for the amount of hair those things shed. I have bunny fur on absolutely EVERYTHING!
Sorry for the long post, It’s been 5 great months with two great bunnies and they are my world. And I’ve missed you all
