I adopted 2 bonded sister bunnies 6 months ago. They are 2 years old, and they are fixed. The one has always had an attitude and litterbox problem but has seemed to get way worse these last few weeks. She humps her sisters head, bites her and pulls chunks of hair off her, pees right next to all the extra litter boxes i have around the room, poops everywhere. When i look away for 2 seconds she leaves poops. She has also peed on my couch 2 times this week. I have tried being persistant and scooting her into her litterbox, extra pans,i started keeping sister in different cages also. Like i said she has always done these things, it has just gotten worse. Im loosing my patients and am embarrased to have company to my house with all the poops. She has been confined to her cage a few days cuz im going nuts. Oh, she used to run and binky but its been a few months. Shes just crabby. Please does anyone have ideas?? Im at my wits end. There are no rabbit vets within 100 miles of my house. My last rabbit died from bloat due to noone being able to help her. Thanks!!

If it’s spring where you are, many buns get extra hormonal and territorial that time of years. Even if they are de-sexed, it’s not just sex-hormones that control their behavior and an increase in lenght of day has a big impact on the brain.

It does sound like hormonal behvior. There have been cases when a few ovarian cells have been left behind after a spay, and that’s enough to cause trouble.
