One of the babies has developed a third eyelid. Is that normal? I’ve never seen a rabbit with a third eyelid before.

They all have a third eyelid. What do you mean by developed? Is it swollen?

None of my other rabbits look like they have a third eyelid… I guess Corys is just more noticeable then? I’ve never seen the third eyelid before and didn’t know they had them lol.

You normally don’t see it, but yes they all have third eyelids (AKA nictitating membrane). Sometimes they will show a little bit and that’s normal. If it’s red, swollen, and/or protruding, then it is a cause for concern. My Wooly actually tore his when he was young. It was red and swollen when it happened. Now he has a piece that’s always visible. The vet would actually have to cut the torn part off if I wanted it “fixed”.

Thank you! I’m glad there’s no cause for concern.
