We’re moving into a new apartment that is two stories, and I’d like the rabbits to have the freedom of going up and down the stairs. We  give the bunnies complete freedom as of now, and they’re never forced or locked in their cage (but they do go in their a lot). What I’d like to do, is build a custom staircase ramp, that allows them to go up and down. I’m thinking of placing it to one side, maybe 8″ wide, with a rail on the side away from the wall (so they don’t fall).

Would kind of work like this: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/f5/eb/19/f5eb193dcf3209166bcc7850f9864540.jpg

Has anyone ever seen or heard of anything like this? Would kind of be like a maze, so I think it’d be fun for them. Thanks!

Our bunnies love running up and down the stairs, they don’t need any kind of ramp, and both girls are fairly small buns.

Interesting. Our’s are 4lb lops, so similar size? How are they coming down? That’s my main concern. I don’t want them to fall down the stairs and potentially be lethal.

The girls are around 1.8 kg (4 lb), the boys around 2.4 kg (5 lb).

Awesome! Thanks for sharing. Good to know they’ll be able to traverse the staircase. Ours isn’t carpeted, but I’d imagine they won’t have too much trouble.

                  Blue loves the uncarpeted stairs.
