        Hey Everyone,

I wouldn’t completely prefer using a cardboard box as her hideout so I was wondering if it’s best to get this one or a cat or dog bed hideout

That grass hut is nice but not sure if your bun would use it as a hideaway or just for bunstruction. That’s what my Bindi did and it didn’t last very long. My experience with any soft pet bed is bunny peeing on it.

My bunnies either pee on soft beds, or shred them. The grass huts and willow huts are chew material. So are cardboard boxes – but they are free chew material/hidey holes. If you want something that lasts longer, try making a pine hidey hole. Anything is potential chew material. The question is – how often and for how much money – do you want to replace it.

Anything edible will be eaten, anything soft will potentially be chewed, the other option is plastic storage tubs. If you can find one of the ones with a dip in the side, when you turn it upside down it already has an opening for bunny to go in and out.

Jack is in love with his twigloo. He chews it on occasion, but he’s not a very destructive bun. He sleeps in it during the day. It’s his house and I can’t go in, haha. He can also stand on the top which is fun for him.

I have a plastic footstool Chewie likes to hide under. One of those foldable ones so it looks like a little box with entry points on two sides.

Some of the hideouts I have seen online are deceptive in their size and they turn out to be very small. More suitable for a Guinea pig than for a rabbit. If you do order one online, make sure that it has dimensions listed and that they will work for your rabbit.

The one you showed us Bunny will eat it.

We used a small moving box from Home Depot — my husband just cut a hole in it off center so she could enter and then hide in it. She was a rescue so when we first got her that’s where she spent all her time. She’s in a bunny room, so now that she’s used to us and knows we’re not going to hurt her, she spends all of her time in the corner of the room in the open (still has access to her cage and her house but doesn’t feel the need to use it anymore). She sleeps on a soft cat mattress pad that’s light pink, and really enjoys her space.
