So we have had bunnies for almost 5 years now (Bruno will be five in June) and we have several buns. But I had never witnessed tooth purring/grinding until last night. Zane was happily snuggling on my lap when I heard this weird noise. He was purring! He also left a nice puddle of drool on my shirt too lol. It makes me feel good to know he was enjoying himself so much.

Careful with drooling, thats not a normal thing for rabbits. It usually means theyre having teeth problems or that they are overheating. Its awesome you caught him purring for the first time though

5 years without tooth purring! Wow, I must say that’s almost impressive, haha. Congrats though, it’s an amazing thing to know you’ve made them so happy/content that they purr. I also agree on the drool issue however, not normal for bunnies.

Awww…I love tooth purring. Olivia was my tooth purrer. Bindi doesn’t do it very often. I have to REALLY be making him feel good for the tooth purrs. He makes me work for it.

Yep, I’ve been keeping an eye on him. It just seemed to be that one time. I peeked at his teeth, and they seem good. I’ll keep an eye out though to make sure it’s not a constant. But the tooth purring! So cute.

Tooth-purring is lovely! Yohio rarely does it, so it feels like a special privilege when he does.

I must agree with everyone – tooth purring is such a treat!
To think that they’re so content, they’re vibrating. lol
