Hiya, I’m just looking for some advice. I don’t k ow whether I’m being over cautious or not but today I caught my male bunny trying to hump my female bunny on more than one occasion (they’re also brother and sister) I picked them up at 8 weeks and have had them a week and I know that once they reach 12 weeks + rabbits can become pregnant so I thought I’d be ok for a few more weeks. I’ve looked and it doesnt look like the males testies have dropped yet but I’ve separated them this evening (which they hate) juat incase.

Am I being over cautious or am I right to separate them now until they are neutered? I don’t want an accidental pregnancy.

Thanks in advance for your help

        Vicky

Yes yes yes! Separate them now! It’s better to be safe than sorry. You never know, someone could be an early bloomer so it certainly doesn’t hurt to separate them before they are “supposed” to become fertile. There have been stories of accidental babies on here because people wait too long to separate.

I agree with LBJ10, keep them separated now. It will be for the best until you can reintroduce them after their spay and neuter. Better safe than sorry
