Ok so Muffin lives in the house but she stays in a converted conservatory (the roof doesnt let any sunlight in). We have blackout blinds but the heats still gets through them! Me and my partner are both at work from 7.30am until about 5.30pm Monday to Friday, we’re wondering what we can do to keep her cool while were away! Im scared she gets heat stroke i dont want to leave a wet towel in her cage incase she nibbles at it and im not there, ive heard about the cooling pads but again i dont want to leave her with it unattended! We cant move her to a different room because she gets scared of the dog barking.. Any suggestions would be great!

Have you tried using cleaned frozen 2 liter soda bottles for her to rest next to with the name thing removed, also make sure she has wet veggies like rinsed off romaine lettuce, ice cubes in her water bowl or crushed ice in her bottle. Also if it has an outlet try a fan but don’t point it at her, just have it up so she can’t chew it but it’s moving the air around.

What temp does it get to during the day? Is there a ceiling fan?

Thanks Jessica! I will try that tomorrow for her, cant help but worry! Im in Scotland so the weather is usually terrible but temperatures yesterday and today have been between 15-19°C, and because of all the windows it can get a lot hotter in the room! there is no ceiling fan. I think i’ll buy a rotating fan for her!
