My bunny doesn’t wanna come outta her cage anymore! This has been going on for about 4 days now. She lives in the garage, and there has been some loud noises recently. Would that scare her? She is 10 months old now… I’m really worried about my bun. She used to love to come out and hop around and do binkies, but suddenly she doesn’t want to anymore. I tried lifting her out but she bolted back in. Her cage is pretty big with 2 stories but she needs more excersise. She is eating and drinking normally. Please help!! Should I worry?

Loud noises can scare a bun. Typically you make loud noises to stop rabbits from fighting because it scares them so bad. If shes hiding and staying away from you, she is likely afraid and stressed out. Any possible way to stop the noises or move her location to a quieter place? Stress if very harmful to rabbits

Yeah what Mikey said, I think the best course of action is to bring your bunny to somewhere more quiet. My windows are always open so my bunnies got used to the sounds of cars and buses passing by, but the sudden loud noises around your garage area may have scared her a lot.

You can try persuading her out with treats and stuff. I do that to my bunnies when they don’t want to come out.

I can’t exactly move her to a quieter spot. We just DONT have room in the house. Will she die of stress? How can I make her less stressed out?

Rabbits can die of stress, yes. The only way to help her not be stressed out is to move her to someplace quieter or stop the loud noises. You can try to comfort her with pets during the loud noises, but if the loud noises are constant, you may not have time to sit with her for hours on end. Make sure shes eating and drinking correctly, and that her poops are normal, then hope for the best if you cannot move her some place less stressful

We moved her inside, but I don’t know if it’s permanent. She is not wanting to come out of her cage and run around, though. I don’t think she is stressed out anymore. Will she just have to get used to it inside?

Its stressful to move too, but if its quieter in there she will warm up to it faster, im sure. Just make sure shes still eating, drinking, and pooping normally. Offer her pets and comfort until shes used to the new area

We’re moving her back to her old area now, cuz she likes it way better there. The loud noises arnet frequent, only once 1,- 2,times a week, and only for 1-4 minutes each. Is that like, okay? We have to move her back there.

You’ll have to keep an eye on her, see so she’s happy and eating and drinking and pooping.
It’s not always about having been scared. Is she spayed? Hormonal swings in unspayed girls can cause intermittent severe grumpiness and unwillingness to interact with humans.

Esp keep an eye on size of poop. If they shrink a lot in size, it means her gut is slowing down, which is dangerous for a bun.

My Zou changed at about 10 months (no more picky uppy) – it could indeed be hormonal, most important thing is what bam says – that she eats, drinks and poops !
Don’t force her to come out, she will when she’s ready too. (And if you do, she’ll see you as the baddie who trys to make her come out when she just doesn’t feel like it).

Yes, bumbleberry is spayed. She’s eating and drinking normally and her poops seem fine. Sometimes her poops vary a bit but that’s fine. Some days there more oval, some days there bigger etc.
