I used to live with Flynn in South Africa and she lived with me in a tiled house. I had a rug on the floor where she slept (when she wasn’t in my bed), although now I have moved overseas and she joined me yesterday. Since then she refuses to go onto the tiles and just goes between my bed, a little carpet on the floor and her litter box (which I had to move closer to the carpet). Is this just because she’s not comfortable in the new flat yet or is there some way she might have developed a new fear of tiles or has she just forgotten that they’re not actually scary!?
She stayed in Cape Town for a few months while I was settling into the new flat overseas, and was either in a secure outdoor hutch (grass floor) or inside on wooden floors.

She might be a bit scared although we never figured out my rabbit, around the house we have laminated floor , his cage is in one of the rooms where je doesnt mond running and binky but as soon as we try take him into another room he will just slide and not move unless he sees a safe spot( carpet).

My bun Theodore lives in my kitchen – which is all tile flooring except for a rug which is on the floor of his pen. He used to live in the living room, and I remember the day we moved his pen to the kitchen and for weeks after he totally sulked with us because he hated the tile flooring. Eventually, he got his confidence up walking on the tiles and I don’t think he minds them now. It will probably just take a while for her to build up confidence on the new flooring – the new tiles maybe feel more slid-y than the old ones. The fact she’s in a strange new environment probably isn’t helping either – it will probably take time.

I’m not necessarily sure why, but my rabbit has never shown interest in coming into the kitchen (linoleum), or trying to sneak into the hallway bathroom (also linoleum, though she’s tried to sneak into our bedroom and roommates room when the doors were left open[carpet is fair game for her]). I’ve wondered if the noise from the fridge might bother her. Fortunately, it’s not a real problem. I have tried coaxing her in the kitchen with a bit of greens while I was making daily lunch, but even with such a bribe she won’t pass the threshold. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My Cinnabunn refuses to venture out onto hard floor whether it’s tile, wood, linoleum, etc. Annabel is more open to trying the floor since when she was a baby and still being litter trained, she was only allowed on the hard floor so it would be easier for me to clean up. She’s still not a fan of it though.

I think they just don’t like it due to the difficulty of running on it when they since danger or get startled.

My rabbits wont touch tile either… too smooth and slippery.
