The last few years or so, my dreams have been rather mundane and run of the mill, but I used to have all kinds of crazy dreams, like time traveling to the past, lots of flying dreams, lucid dreams, earth apocalypse type.   Just nutty — guess there was more drama in my life back then!

Anyway, there is one dream I had that I get a real kick out of.

I was on a spaceship in space.  My husband, Steve and I were talking when suddenly it occurred to me this could not be possibly happening – that it had to be a dream! I then asked Steve, “How are you in my dream when you are laying the bed next to me in real life?…Are you having the same dream???”     He then mumbled something and just evaporated!  I knew then he was just part of my dream.   I then became thrilled to know I was aware I was in a dream — fascinated with what my mind was making up.  I investigated the furniture — even went to the spaceship kitchen and opened up the cabinets to find out what I had stored there.   Mostly cereal LOL!  (so strange as I don’t have cereal in my house as I would eat too much of it — I love cereal.   So I guess my subconscious was storing my favorites for me.)

Anyway, I investigated everything.   I decided I wanted to get to the bottom of this. I wanted to know what part of my brain was really in charge of this…WHO/what part is deciding what imagery is going to be created each night.

I saw a phone on the wall, and picked it up.  The operator came on and I demanded to speak to who was in charge of all of this imagery.  And here is how the conversation went:

ME: I want to know who is charge of creating all of this! The tables, the pictures, the cereal, all of it!!

OP:  I”m sorry, but that’s confidential!

ME: It’s MY dream, and I demand to know.

OP:  errr….okay one moment, hold please.

(Hold music —- yep, I had hold music in my dream. LOL)

OP: Okay, I have the answer.  It’s Brad Pitt

ME: Brad Pitt is in charge of my dream imagery? Really?

        OP: Hmmmhum

ME: Wow…well then..hmmm!…Niiiiice!…(long pause)…  WAIT…just …a….minute!  That is BS! Listen lady, you better tell me who is in charge right now.  This is MY dream, so you have to tell me the truth and no BS this time!

        OP: (sigh)…okay, connecting.

And then…. I WOKE UP.  LOL.   Got connected to myself.  I’m sure a Jungian Psychologist could have a field day with it

That dream just cracks me up every time I think about it. It’s so silly!!!

So what was one of your craziest dreams?   Lucid dreams, flying dreams or even just simple yet strange (as many dreams are) — Share away!

I seriously LOL’d when I read Brad Pitt. Hilarious! Love it.

So funny you’ve posted this BB. I was thinking earlier today about the first forum I ever joined. It was a Dream forum- as in, a place to discuss them, not one I’d dreamt up.
The second forum I ever joined was BB.

Haha Pinky, I found myself drifting off listening to that. Then I scrolled down and read “meditation” in the description. No wonder!

Haha, that’s some dream! Just curious, BB, what is your astrology sign? Mine is Pisces and I have the craziest, funnest dreams. I LOVE dreaming. I have the best time in my dreams. I have a lot of lucid dreams where I know I’m dreaming so can do whatever I want. I also have powers in most of my dreams; I can fly, turn invisible if I say “Invisible” and go through windows and glass. Never heard of anyone having this before, but I often reference past dreams in my current dreams. Sometimes they are like “to be continued” and a few weeks, months or whatever, I will go back to that same dream and continue it.

My craziest, and funnest dream, of late, is the other night I dreamed I got in the Dr. Who phonebooth thing and went back to Tudor England (my fave historical period). I was transported and arrived in an amazing period costume which was purple, my fave colour. I was at Court and met Henry VIII. I was quite nervous  about hanging out with him, for obvious reasons.

Last night, Mark Wahlberg was in my dream (not too shabby ) and I turned into a fairy and was able to fly through the stars.

I should keep a dream journal. So many dreams I just want to remember. But I do I like to write down images or events that I remember and check out their possible meaning on Dreammoods.com

LPT, I’m kinda envious of your dream life!

You need to create yourself alter-ego name if you have all these super powers! And a costume!

Well I really only dream when I have problems I need to work out. So most of my dreams are really complicated/weird/dark/depressing lol!

                      But here are a few.

(This one I think was because I just went vegetarian, am going to the camp I go to every year and was pondering whether or not I should buy a 1 pound snickers bar off of amazon ha ha it happed a few days ago) Okay, well I was at the camp I go to every year in real life, and was walking down the long path. It was dark and foggy. I stumbled across a shack I had never noticed before and went inside (like any reasonable person would d lol). It was stacked all the way up to the ceiling with filthy cages. They contained parrots, being used for egg and pet production. One of the parrots (it appeared to be a female Eclectus) escaped and flew to me, snuggling into my arms. I was horrified and ran out of the shack, back up the long road. The camp director was at the end along with my family, and the director was telling me how I could not take the bird. “My” bird turned into a snake and it latched onto the director’s hand… The director was able to pry the snake off and throw it at me, telling me to keep my dumb snake. My snake then morphed into a giant snickers bar and I could see bite by bite being eaten/disappearing. While I screamed “No, don’t eat my friend!”

Yup that was dream number one. Pretty weird huh?

Dream NO. 2 is pretty creepy too. (There’s a giant field/yard in front of our library that you can walk over, or take the path to get to the door. dream happened a few days ago) Well it was night and the field was a dark lake. I was offered mcdonalds but I said no because there aren’t really any vegetarian options. I like Mcdonalds, but didn’t want I to be a stumbling block. Well on that lake was a long rope bridge you needed to cross over to get to the library. Me and a few family members were crossing when we got to around the middle of the bridge. There was a mcdonalds meal placed in the center on purpose so you would slip off the bridge and fall off (and die, because apparently people can’t swim in my dreams?). Well we did, and right before I crashed into the freezing water, I could see a man’s dark silhouette at the end of the bridge, and he let out a deep and evil laugh. I woke up terrified.

Another dream I had was about finding my future husband and we were about to get married. Man was Ii disappointed when I woke up to find out it was only a dream ha ha.

Pinky — LOL!! IThat hold music! Now THAT music is burnt into my brain and it’s the only thing I can hear when I remember that dreams hold music.

LPT — I’m an Aquarius (Jan 22). Your dreams sound fascinating! What fun! I wouldn’t be able to wait to fall asleep!

MM – I used to have a lot of dark dreams when I was young too. Creepy scary stuff. Your dream about the snickers bar had me cracking up though.

I really enjoy reading/hearing about other people’s dreams – – It’s like reading Fairytales – even if it’s Grimm’s type. Completely unpredictable stories! Love that.

Moxie, your dreams actually kinda make sense to me, in a way. Mostly the second one. The first one with the morphing bird/snake/chocolate bar is more cryptic.

I have many strange dreams because I have migraines, some of those are not nice at all, so I won’t talk about those, but funny enough I had a dream last night, well before I went to bed I remembered something that happened over 20 years ago, I was in the shopping centre and a man was following me, he never looked at my face or said anything, when I looked at him he stood so still like a statue and as if he was looking at something and I couldn’t tell if he was happy or sad, when I moved a few steps and stopped, he moved again and stopped, I looked up at him and he didn’t look at me, then I knew something was wrong, I was trying to see if he had banged his head or something, I went into a music shop, back then it was not CDs it was cassette tapes and records, I picked up a record looked at it, he stood there like staring into space, I left, again with him following me, I stopped and asked who he was, I never felt scared of him I felt relaxed, he didn’t speak, so I went back into the shop and told the man in there, I asked if he could call the police or something, get him some help, the man said he would, I thanked him and looked at the other man and said. “I’m sorry, look you haven’t done anything wrong, this man will get you some help because I don’t think you are well and you are on your own, you could get hurt.” I smiled and said goodbye and put my hand on his arm and wished him good luck, on the way back I looked through the window of the shop and he was stood sideways looking at the man in the shop and turned his head slowly to look at me, then looked back at the man, I ran to my car and drove off, well before I went to sleep I was thinking about this, I saw him in the dream he was smiling and I asked how he was, he said. “I’m doing great thanks, got a job, back with my family and kids, thank you.” I woke up in tears, I just hope he did get help and is happy.

A little off topic, but that hold music Pinky Linked  to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-SIManm_Qo —-

I was just listening to a podcast episode of This American Life , and ironically there was a story about a guy who was obsessed about that hold music you linked to. They didn’t reveal the music til the end.  He had to find out who wrote etc etc.  Took him years I guess. Anyway, here is a little fact about that very hold music (which seems to have many people obsessed about it — some people call just to be put on hold and listen to once they find it. LOL.    It’s called Opus #1  and it was written by Tim Carlton, who was 16 at the time, he recorded in 1989 on an 8 track tape in his garage, by one of his friends. Now it’s on 65 million hold sets at Cisco.

There ya go — not a dream, but a fun little nerd fact.

A recurring dream I had as a child, was my mum and I driving down a country road in a convertible, while we were being chased by a giant orange wombat. True story. It wasn’t scary… just weird, and that was the entire dream

I dream a lot, way too much sometimes because often if I dream too much at night, I don’t feel well rested. Because it feels like I never got to switch off completely.

Just had a dream of going up in a Roller coaster, but the funny thing was I was eating a tuna sandwich at the same time.

Giant Wombat….that must have been cute!

Last night I dreamed I was turned into a vampire. That was kind of fun.

Sometimes I have dreams where I’m being chased by someone, and I’m just running for a long time, and then I wake up extremely exhausted. Really weird.

Wow an orange wombat! That’s cool!
Eating a sandwich on a rollercoaster ride? I wonder if that means you are having difficultly just trying to accomplish the simplest things like eating a sandwich. I have days like that — hate it when it carries over to my dreams.

I have flying dreams a lot, but when I was kid, the only way I could fly is with my ponytails! Now when I fly in my dreams, I have to push off hard with my feet and use my arms to flap real hard — not elegant flying at all. LOL I wonder what that means in life — stumble and awkward as I try to succeed at something. Who knows. Just fun stories regardless.
