My bunny, Tiger, had just been spayed this morning and I got her home at 4pm. I was given pain medications for her and I gave it to her at 6:30. It was quite a struggle because she didn’t like the medicine and can’t stay still. Her cage was kinda big and there is only a small entrance where I can squeeze half of my body in that’s why I also had a hard time keeping her still..

She’s just crouched at the corner of her cage right now, I don’t know why she’s still feeling some pain.. does the medication take long? I’m just super concerned. I already put a warm water bottle next to her so she’s cozy. I need some advice please. How long does this usually take?

Even with pain medication it’s likely she will still be sore, often it does more to take the edge off than to completely remove any feeling (at least that’s my experience with pain killers). She’s just been through a very big ordeal and anesthetic affects animals differently, give her a bit more time to recover, she’s probably too tender to want to move around right now. Just make sure that she’s getting something to eat and drink, even if you have to hand feed her.

If she hasn’t eaten til next morning you need to syringe feed her critical care or pellet mash. Bunnies’ tummies must never go completely empty + she needs energy to regain her strenght.

Thanks for the advice! She’s doing well today, she’s been eating hay, pellets, kale, dill, and some treats.
However, I have another problem, I noticed (when I cleaned her litterbox this afternoon) that her pee was paste-like.. it’s still yellow/cream in color, but the consistency is different. Moreover, one time I saw her struggling to pee. I seldom see her drinking water (I didn’t change the container). I’ve started using a syringe to make her drink and I’ve put apple cider vinegar in her water ( I read somewhere that it’s good for her health).
I couldn’t contact my vet because they’re closed during weekends that”s why I had to rely on forums in the web

She’s just lying down (mermaid position) right now.

I am not aware of the apple cider vinegar — Where did you read that?

I am glad that she is doing better – Most likely what you are seeing is just calcium excretion due to fact she hasn’t been feeling well and isn’t drinking as much. Does she get leafy greens as part of her diet? She is probably struggling to pee just because that whole area is still sore. But give your vet a call on Monday if you still see the same issues.

Oh, they said to put 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar for every gallon. does that seem like a bad idea? I’ve searched it on the web “is ACV good for bunnies”, nobody seems to testify against. >.<

Can you give me a list of some veggies she could eat? can she eat cabbage or the light colored lettuce?

Check out the Bunny Info section here of Binky Bunny for a list of safe veggies. Cabbage or iceberg are not recommended. Cabbage can cause gas and iceberg lettuce can cause diarrhea. Romaine and Green Leaf Lettuce are okay.
