Hi!  New bunny owners here – our lovely lop Sami has been with us for about a month and has been great.  He started moulting a couple of weeks ago and while he itched his ears a lot there didn’t seem to be anything else bothering him.  We’ve been grooming him as much as possible with a brush but his hair is coming out in clumps now!  Tonight I pulled a huge clump of hair from above his tail and discovered a lot of white flakes – Dr. Google seems to think its mites, but I wanted to check with the experts.  Should I take him to the vet tomorrow morning or is it normal to have dry, flaky skin during a moulting?  He doesn’t seem bothered by anything – no itching of his tail area and he’s eating and drinking and binkying normally!

        Thanks so much!

My mini rex gets some skin flakes while hes molting. He sheds in chunks too. He was at the vet yesterday and the vet said he was healthy so, as long as its not a ton of flakes, i would assume your bunny is fine as well
