Hera had all her front teeth pulled awhile ago because they were all growing crooked and making eating difficult. She did awesome after the initial extraction. Started eating a ton and much happier. One of her peg teeth has ended up growing back in! Vet said that may happen if she wasn’t able to get rid off all the tooth matter.

So now I set up another appointment this upcoming Tuesday to pull the grown back tooth. I’m hoping it’ll be a quick and easy procedure with minimal healing time since it’s only one tooth and it’s a peg tooth. It’s still always worrying when they go under anesthesia though. Here’s hoping the tooth doesn’t grow back again!

Anyone have experience with recurring tooth issues? Zeus has good teeth, thank goodness. Zeus is doing awesome, he turned 8 two months ago and is on daily metacam for arthritis. It has turned him back into his normal active self!

I don’t have any experience with recurring tooth issues, but I wish that everything will be fine for Hera… Good luck for the recovering

I have a friend whose rabbit had a couple teeth out, not at the same time. The vet actually just pulled them out when he was checking them at the initial consult. He didn’t really intend to, they just came out. I’m guessing they were easily removed because of infection around them.
I wonder if they can do that for the peg teeth instead of sedating?

Either way, I’m wishing Hera the best of luck! It’s lovely to hear Zeus is doing so well also.

Aw, poor Hera. Hope she has a speedy recovery.

BTW, it’s good to see you!

That’s pretty amazing they were able to pull the teeth with the bun awake! Heras tooth I think is pretty well attached to her gums so I’m guessing she’ll need to have anesthesia.

Hera’s appointment is tomorrow morning. I’m going to bring her own hay and her favorite treat with her tomorrow. I hope it goes quick and easy and she can come home asap.

Just an update. Procedure went well. . She’s home and resting now with pain Meds and antibiotics for next 7-10 days. She started eating a little within 12 hours and is pooping and peeing well.
