When I lived at my parents we had a few bunnies that lived outside (against my will), and we would always feed them grass and weeds we pulled out of the yard and the field next to us. They loved it.
Now I have a few bunnies that live inside with me and I like to pick tall grass out of my yard to give to them, but I was wondering if it was ok. Will it hurt my buns if I give them too much? They love it and it actually got my bun that wasn’t want to eat to actually start eating again.

I mean I know that’s what wild bunnies eat so it can’t be too bad for them, but there’s so many contradicting things on Google about it.

Yard grass is actually a mix of many grasses, and it’s fine for buns if it’s not been treated with pesticides or just recently been fertilized (so there’s fertilizer still on the leaves). Too much of any new food can hurt a bun, so start by giving just a little, then increase, so the bunny tummy gets used to it. It’s the same with all food except hay really, you go slow when you introduce it.

Buns can also eat many weeds like dandelion, ground elder, yarrow. If you give your bun dandelion greens, be prepared for red pee. It’s normal but can look a bit scary =)
