So the babies are finally moving around. Tuppence is wanting to feed them but they are too pesky. She goes to the nest box entrance and all three babies shoot out on mass and swarm her. This leaves Tuppence rather frustrated. So she is trying to teach them manners.
She sits opposite the nest box and adopts an aggressive position. Every baby to approach her gets batted away (remarkably gently). Eventually the babies retreat back into the nest box. So mummy bunny jumps into the nest box to feed them. But then they swarm her again and the cycle starts over. We are currently on feeding attempt 4 and baby bunnies are starting to learn their lesson.
Tuppence has now wandered off to get some food. I think she’s a bit annoyed with the constant little bites she’s getting from her litter. She’s watching them to wait for quiet. They are instead digging in the litter tray and making more mess than I ever thought possible.

Success! Haha! In the end Casper had to get involved and nudge the babies back into the box. Tuppy in now feeding the babies. Casper is waiting outside the box and will snuggle with Tuppence when she resurfaces.
I swear she went to talk it over with him and come up with a plan! The way they just worked as a team is hilarious!

Aaaaah! They’re both cleaning the babies post feed!!! I could cry this is so cute!!! Co-parenting done right!!

Casper and Tuppence now curled up together, baby bunnies all settling down to sleep (you can tell because they’ve just pulled the bedding back into the box and I can hear them sorting out sleeping spots.)

          TOO CUTE

What a funny pair they must be to watch.

They say the Mums only visit the babies once but it not always the case is it?.I brought home a pregnant rabbit a few years ago and she often went to check on the baby. She’d come and investigate too, if I was looking in on the bub.

Can the babies get to Tuppy 24/7? If so, perhaps she needs a separate area she can go where they cannot. Especially after they become more mobile.

Baby bunnies are in a bunny nursery (a smaller cage attached to the big cage) where the only way to access it is with a jump over a barrier that the babies are too small to make. Nursery cage contains nest, litter tray, bedding, dig spots and hay and water for Tuppence and Casper (though the babies are starting to nibble the hay).
              🙂

Sounds like Casper and Tuppence should be co-teaching some parenting classes where I live. (Ahem… ladies and gents – aka nannies and drivers – there is this word called “NO”…) LOL
