I am worried about my lawn not being safe. It was fertilized about a year ago. Also I live at the bottom of a hill and all of the water from the yards above my house comes down to my yard so it could get fertilizer from that. Is my lawn safe, or should I not take my bunnies out there?

Fertilizer is not a problem unless it’s freshly applied. It’s not poisonous like pesticides and fungicides. All vegs you buy have been fertilized in some way, with manure or artificial fertilizers, and neither makes the vegs inappropriate for bunnies. It’s just nutrients that the plants need to thrive.

I don’t think you need to worry about fertilizer from the yards above your house, but if there’s so much water your lawn gets soaked, it’s not really suitable for bunnies. Bunnies don’t like getting wet.

A year is plenty of time to allow a bunny to feed. The more concerning part is the runoff from your neighbors property. It’s not so much the fertilizer as it is any weedkillers that they may be using. I’m not really sure what to suggest in that regard. If you know that your close neighbours use herbicides on their lawn, I wouldn’t risk it, if they don’t, you’re probably fine.
