I have had my bunny for 7 months, and he’s 10 months now. I don’t think he’s going to grow anymore. He’s only about 30 centimetres or 1 foot long. I don’t know his weight because my scale doesn’t weigh such light weights, though he’s probably around 1 kg or less. I’ve seen his markings on a lot of bunnies, but I don’t know his breed! Weirdly enough, I think he had a brother that was totally brown. Please help!

        Here are some pictures:

        and some more:

if you need more, just ask!

And thank you for your help!

No idea (I’m a dog lady!) but the ear markings are wicked – they looked like endives – chicorees – dipped in ink…. !!
Others will no doubt help !

He’s cute! I agree, his markings (especially the ears) are great.

I’ve seen his markings on a lot of bunnies, but I don’t know his breed!

It does appear on a lot of breeds. It’s from the pattern genetics and not due to a specific breed.

If you have bathroom scales, you can weigh yourself while holding him. Then weigh just yourself and deduct this from the first weight.

I couldn’t tell you what breed he is either, quite likely a mixed breed, but some rabbit breeds are much more difficult to tell apart than say dog breeds which are often very distinctly built.

I agree about his markings, those ears are just gorgeous

Thanks for the compliments! And jerseygirl, I’ll try that…  I can’t believe I didn’t think of that!

Unfortunately, the broken pattern is an accepted pattern in many breeds now. Broken patterns can range from full blankets to just a few spots. Your bunny has the classic dark ears, eye circles, and line down the back. My guess is that he is a mix of some smaller breeds. He isn’t a dwarf though. He doesn’t have any of those characteristics. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t have some dwarf breed mixed in there, he just didn’t inherit the dwarfism gene.

Just by looking at his shape, he almost looks mini satin-ish. He doesn’t have the satin fur, of course. But he could be a carrier of the gene since it’s recessive.
