I have a baby holland lop. I understand she’s a baby so litter training will take time, but there is absolutely no pattern to her pee and poo and I have done everything possible to encourage using the litter box. Her hay, food, and water bottle are all where she has to be inside the litter box to access them. The litter box is in a corner. I pick up all droppings and place them in the litter box and when I clean up pee accidents I place the paper towel in the litter box. She pees and poos everywhere though! It’s not in a different corner of the cage, it’s everywhere. She will go in the very middle, in all four corners, up against the side wall, in my lap, and outside the cage. Probably one time out of twenty actually makes it to the litter box and it’s probably just a coincidence that she was in it and just happened to have to go at that second. I am absolutely lost. My bun is the sweetest girl ever but I need her to learn to use her litter if she’s going to be a free range house bunny! PLEASE HELP

How old is she? Baby rabbits are kinda, for lack of a better term, ADD. It is going to be very hard to litter train her until she is older. Older bunnies have more developed brains and can learn stuff like litter training a lot faster, and don’t forget like babies do!
If she’s only a couple months old I wouldn’t get discouraged and would expect her to forget later that she was litter trained (if you succeed soon) but once she gets older it will be easier!
For my bun Missy it only took me putting a litterbox on the floor and she knew already what it was for, but she was also almost a year old when I adopted her.

It’s easier to litter box train a rabbit that has been spayed or neutered, so you may not have a lot of success with it until your rabbit has been spayed.

Yes, how old is she? A bunny nearing puberty is gonna pee everywhere to mark things anyway. As tobyluv said, it can be difficult to litter train an unaltered bun.

She’s only six weeks. So should I just remove the litter box altogether and wait til she is older to try again??

Wow, very young. They toilet a lot when they’re young too. High metabolism.

Are you using bedding on the cage floor?

I am using bedding. It seems she loves to pee all over that. Should I use the soft bedding as litter instead? Then what should I use for the rest of the cage?

You don’t need to use any bedding. If you remove that, I think you’ll see a big change in her litter habits. At the moment she probably doesn’t see the difference between the bedding and litter material.
They don’t need bedding and lots of bunnies push it aside so they can lie on the bare floor.

As she grows, make sure to get her a bigger litter box to keep up good habits. Some that they sell with cages are just too small.
