I was just looking into pet insurance as I have had to deal with some hefty vet bills lately. We just adopted a bunny who has been in GI stasis since we got her(11 days). She obviously hasn’t recovered yet and will probably need to go back to the vet tomorrow or Saturday as she isn’t showing much improvement. I understand completely that these bills will not be covered by insurance. But will Stasis be then considered a pre-existing condition? Will she be covered for any future issues like this? Our other bunny was treated for sore hocks for about 2 months. Would that also be a pre-existing condition? He is now mostly healed.

I am looking into VPI insurance but I will have to call them tonight to get a quote. I know a few of you have used this insurance. How does it work for you?

*bump* I’d like to know as well, after $4,000 in treatments and surgery!
