I was once petting Blue when I brushed on his eye and noticed something huge….. BUNNIES HAVE EYE BOOGERS!

Hehe. I am now obsessed with pulling them out. They come in different colors, shapes, and sizes.

        As for grooming:

First I wet my hands and run them over Blue’s body. This removes loose fur.

Next I use a slicker brush for cats on his body. ALWAYS START WITH THE FLAT PART OF YOUR BUN’S HEAD!! The slicker brush gets rid of loose fur.

Next, starting with his head so that he likes his groom grooms more, I use a metal nit comb. LOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDDDS of shedding fur is pulled out, and he doesn’t mind… that much.

After that I use the slicker brush again, then wet hands.

        What a clean bunny!

        I do this 1-3 times a week.

Enjoy your neat bunny’s fur…. while it lasts

I didn’t vote because I have two buns with very different types of fur. Bindi has very thick, long, wooly-type fur so I use a small slicker brush, a comb and wet hands when shedding. Olivia has short, silky fur and I use a furminator and wet hands when shedding.

Wow! If only I could get mine to stay still long enough to go through that routine!
Tuppy doesn’t moult much and is happy to have a good old comb as long as her nose is in a bowl of food!

Casper on the other hand is shedding about an extra rabbits worth per day. I am debating spinning it into wool and knitting a hat! He also HATES combs and brushes. The slicker brush especially will get dug out of my hands and then hurled out of the pen. The only way to groom him is by hand. He’ll sit on your lap and happily have his fur very gently pulled until there’s a handful of fluff. In worst cases a Kong zoom groom for cats seems to feel enough like hands to be tolerated!!

I use the short wire-bristled brush they sell int he cat section. I use it on Lancelot. He sits nice and still. Winces when I pull out matted hair, but still sits nicely. Guinivere doesn’t sit well. I’m starting by grooming her very lightly, for short periods. She wants to be petted. Loooooooves petting, and even a light neck/shoulder massage. Avalon and Morgana don’t let me groom them. I have just recently gotten them to let me pet them for brief moments. But Avalon is a huge shedder – so I need to work at his grooming acceptance.
