Olaf is all about his grooming time, but I noticed that he has trouble when it comes to washing the exterior of his ears. Since they are “up” he tries to flex them down and grab them between his paws for cleaning. Unfortunately, his paws clasp together around air because his ear never makes it low enough to end up between them. I feel badly because he tries so hard and clearly thinks he is succeeding. Narf!

Will this cause him any problems if he doesn’t groom them? As I mentioned, this only relates to the paw-cleaning of the ear exterior. He is able to scratch them with his back feet just fine, inside and out.

I think he’ll be fine, I’m sure that many short-eared bunnies have this issue, but I wouldn’t worry about it. After all, they can’t groom the back of their necks and that spot is also so soft and fluffy

Thanks! Good point. I do always want to scritch in that little fluffy nook. I suppose it’s really just a matter of not breaking his heart in telling him his earnest efforts are fruitless. It will be our little secret. ;] Ignorance is bliss.
