I’ve been looking for the perfect brush since i’ve gotten Loki, but I just cannot find something that works good for him. I didn’t realize how long his hair was until I bought Freya. (who’s fur is very thick and short) i’ve used a flea type comb, and I also have the little furminator for small animals. He’s more comfortable with the flea comb, and it works alright, but I don’t feel like it gets the stuff underneath. As far the furminator, I feel like it’s too rough and it caused some hair loss/bald spots. Loki sheds SO much no matter how often I brush him. He sleeps on his hut, and after one day it’s covered in a coat of hair. I vacuum out his cage daily. I feel like i’ll never catch up!

Have you ever tried the hairbuster? That is sold in the BinkyBunny store. It is my favorite, and not because it’s sold in the BinkyBunny Store, but because it really works well without over grooming. You do have to comb though like you are combing hair, (holding down the fur a bit as you comb along some of the longer or tuffs that are coming out during a molt. It is not good for long haired coats, like Angora’s as it would most likely pull too much. What kind of bunny is Freya?

I have not! I was wondering about it though! I’ve seen it in the store. Loki’s hair isn’t too long, nothing like an Angora- just longer than Freya’s. She’s and American Blue. She barely sheds at all. Loki is a mess  I don’t know where all the hair comes from! It’s never ending hahaha.

I just use a nit comb, it gets rid of so much loose fur!

I suggest that before grooming, you run wet hands over Loki.

I use a brush that’s rubbery/silicone-like. It’s kind of like the kong zoom groom, but instead of few fat bristles, it has lots of close together fine bristles which are a little more flexible. I absolutely love it. Found an image: http://www.decor.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/164000-Speed-Electrostatic-Brush.jpg I find that because the bristles are kind of rubbery they grip the fur (gently) to tug out everything that’s loose. It’s actually meant for removing pet hair from surfaces, like clothing and furniture, but I love it as an actual brush.

I’ve always wanted to try the hairbuster, but haven’t been able to warrant the purchase from Aus with the cost of shipping Maybe one day.
