The summary kinda says it all: “I bought Cobble a week ago. He is a dwarf bunny. I know that he is clearly a mix. Could anyone help identify the mix?”

If anyone could assist that would be awesome! He is about 10 weeks old. Also, I have been looking at getting a second bunny for him as a companion. What do you guys think of mini plush lops? Would it make a good friend for him? If not, what is a breed that would go well with him?

It looks like Cobble is a Harlequin Dutch rabbit mix. Breeds don’t really matter when putting rabbits together. You do have to follow proper bonding procedures. The first step in bonding is to have both rabbits spayed or neutered, so you would have to wait another couple of months before Cobble could be neutered before thinking of getting him a companion. It is usually easiest to bond a neutered male to a spayed female. Some shelters and most rabbit rescues have rabbits that are already spayed and neutered, so that would save you money and the vet visit for the surgery.

Here are 2 good articles on bonding:

          Cobble is very cute!

The head shape and ear size say netherland dwarf to me. He has dutch markings and seems quite large next to your foot so I’d say a Dutch/Netherland Dwarf mix. He is very cute

Looks like a Netherland Dwarf Harlequin mix… I would think Dutch, but the head marking is not there. Very cute!

I think Cobble is a Harlequin mix of some sort. He is soooo cute!

                              I agree with TobyLuv.
