Hello all!! I have just a quick little comment/question.

As you may know, I have a darling first bunny who is about 4 months and she always does the strangest things. Well, a couple weeks ago I noticed her doing something especially odd and she has continued to do so. I can’t help but wonder if it means something….so here I am!

Ophelia licks everything. My pants, her favorite floral-print pillow, plastic chip bags, the carpet, etc. And I don’t mean she just licks these things just a couple times and then hops away-no. She licks the cloth things until they have a wet spot almost 6 inches wide…Please tell me there is a meaning to this nonsense??? I had a video of it but I didn’t save it.

I can’t wait to hear what you have to say. I also have a problem with her chewing the metal bars to her pen…she has plenty of hard wood chew toys as well as a multitude of food options during the day while I’m at work but every night she chews on the metal. So any suggestions as to how to stop that behavior, I’m always open to suggestions.

I’m assuming she isn’t spayed yet? Young bunnies will often lick things. Either to explore or to “groom” and some of this can be hormone-driven. Most bunnies it “outgrow” it to some degree. Of course, some bunnies will always lick things. Probably not so excessively though.

My Chewie is a licker too – licks everything/everyone he can. Thoroughly. lol
I say he’s helping his mommy keep the house and herself clean.
Some bunnies just enjoy it – they groom, basically.

As for the metal bars, I’m afraid I have no ideas since my bun is no-limits free range.
