        Hey yall!

I was watching Ophelia while she was drinking from her water bottle today and realized that she is very round. This lead me to research how to tell if she is overweight which told me to feel if she has a decrease in size after her ribcage as opposed to an increase or a bulge. They said if there is not a decrease then she is “fat” and has “love handles”. I didn’t really like the terminology that was used so here I am asking the real people with real animals and real opinions. I included a coffee mug in one of the pictures for size comparison. She is 3 months old and around 5lbs. Easily knocks out 3 lbs of hay a week I would say.

I also added a picture of her little eyebrows that are showing while her coat is changing from the slate gray to the “speckled” silver. She’s going to be a gorgeous “little” girl when she is all done transitioning.

For what it’s worth, she seems nicely proportioned to me.

Here’s a little guide to bunny weight:

              I love her eyebrows!

She looks about right to me. She has a nice egg shape. A couple of ours get eyebrows during a molt too!! It’s so cute, it gives them a grumpy look.

Hard to say from just a picture, but she looks great to me. I would prefer my buns be a little on the plump side as opposed to too thin.

She looks like a normal bunny to me. I suppose it’s hard to tell from just a picture, but she doesn’t appear to be obviously overweight in these.

I presume she’s going to be a big bun anyway isn’t she, looking at those ears (unless she’s a hare!)…. 3lb of hay per week…. golly ! What a lot of poop !! LOL

Yes she definitely will be a big girl. She’s a Flemish giant and has doubled in size already in the 4 weeks I’ve had her. We love her though, no matter how expensive her diet is.

Looks good to me-a little extra weight is good if they ever go through an illness.

I wouldn’t suggest putting a bunny on a diet (to gain or lose) without a vet recommending it, and advising on the how
