I have a 9 wk old mini lop. Had him for a week and he has settled in very well. In 2 weeks time the buddy i chose for him will be ready to leave his mother. So they are 2 wks apart in age. What can i expect in terms of behaviour when they first meet? All the bonding info i read concerns an established rabbit being introduced to a newcome. My first one will be 11 wks old by the time the 8 wk old one comes along. I plan on neutering them both at 4 months old.

You cannot bond rabbits until both have been spayed or neutered. Baby bunnies will do okay together, but once they approach sexual maturity, and 11 weeks is close to when that happens, they cannot be together because they can fight. When rabbits fight, they can severely injure each other. You could possibly put them together for a few days when the new rabbit comes, but then they would just have to be separated very soon after that. So the best thing for you to do is to get both neutered as soon as possible, then begin the bonding sessions. It is generally easier to bond a neutered male to a spayed female, but it is possible to bond rabbits of the same sex.

Some males can be neutered as young as 3 months. It all depends on when their testicles drop.

One good article on bonding is http://rabbit.org/faq-bonding-multiple-rabbits/.
