Hi Iam new to this I have kept rabbits before but this is our first house rabbit.

Brian was 1 in November and recently had his second vaccination from vets 4 pets against the two diseases a week after he has developed quite a nasty scab on his back where e needle went in.

Obviously it has gone really dry and he has picked some of it off Iam really worried that it is starting to get infected I phoned the vet last week and they said as long as he is eating and drinking which he still is and acting normal then he is ok.

He is acting normal bit I am still worried I have attached 2 pictures can anyone help

I can’t seem to attach the photo 🙁
        Thanks
        Laura

Is it the nobivac myxoRHD vaccine this side effect, a scab at the injection site is known, but not considered grave. You can rinse it with saline (human eye wash is fine). You can use plain neosporin cream on it (polymyxin B). If you see any signs of an abscess forming, you should get a vet appointment.

Dry sounds good to me though, it’s wetness and seepage you don’t want.

I found this on Nobivac myxo-RHD:

4.6 Adverse reactions (frequency and seriousness) A transient temperature increase of 1-2° C can occur. A small, non-painful swelling (maximum 2 cm diameter) at the injection site is commonly observed within the first two weeks after vaccination. The swelling will resolve completely by 3 weeks after vaccination.

The easiest way to get your pics up is to upload to photobucket or imgur or other external source, then paste the link or the picture into your post.

I vaccinate my buns yearly with this vaccine.
