My two year old bunny drinks a lot of water. Is that normal? Does anyone else’s drink a lot?

What’s a lot? Is there a change in how much she drinks?

Rabbits drink the most water of almost all pets, for their body weight so they should drink a lot but a sudden change would warrant a vet visit.

I had a 16 oz bottle and I kept refilling it every like 5 minutes. Not quite but it seemed like it. The 11 month old doesn’t drink enough I don’t think.

Are you sure that the bottle isn’t leaking/dripping excessively? They are notorious for doing that. Most rabbits prefer using a bowl. You have to have a good, heavy crockery bowl so it can’t be tipped over. Some rabbits drink a good bit of water and some drink very little. As Kokaneeandkahlua posted, if this is a new behavior, you should have your bunny checked out by your vet. I had an older rabbit that started drinking excessive water, after he developed urinary problems. Rabbits can also start drinking extra water if they are having teeth or mouth problems, because the water is soothing to them.

The bottle wasn’t leaking, I watched it. I hate bowls because stuff gets in there.
