I have a precious mini lop male. He is shedding right now and does not enjoy brushing a so I have been plucking him. First day, his poops were small and dry I upped his wet greens and gave him a juice water mix and later that evening he appeared to be better. Yesterday afternoon, small softer poops sometimes sticking to his bottom. No poops until this afternoon/ this morning. He loves pooping on my bed and I woke up from a nap with lots of poops. These poops were slightly larger than his normal and quite a few “pearls.” Absolutely no appetite or energy loss AT ALL. I called his vet because last night I was very upset. Does these sound familiar or normal to anyone? No problem bringing him to vet, but I don’t want to stress him out with a long car ride if not entirely necessary. Thank you!

Rabbits will sometimes have strung together poops, especially if they are shedding. Make sure that he is eating plenty of hay and drinking a lot of water, or getting wet greens like you have been doing. Even though he doesn’t like being brushed, it might be good to do that in conjunction with plucking his fur. It sounds like he was having some gut slowdown, but that he is coming out of it since he pooped a lot. Keep a close eye on him and if his eating or pooping really declines, then a vet trip would be in order.

Bam, that you for all your help! You helped ease my mind earlier this morning. I brought his poops from this afternoon and vet said they looked good but since I drove him almost an hour she gave him fluids, checked his teeth, metacam, and b6 all to be on the safe side. He is cranky and hiding now hoping he comes out of his pout and is nice and regular. Thanks again will keep posted xoxo
