Three days ago, our little rescue girl, Gina, first came to me for head rubs.

She is still very tentative, allowing only a very slow hand to give maybe 2 or 3 rubs, but she has come every time she is out for carpet time, each time coming, backing off and returning for a second little rub.

If I remember rightly, we caught her on 9th June last year, so it has taken almost 8 months of gentleness to gain this trust from her!

          Lucky Lucky bun !!
I read in a training manual once that before people should be ‘allowed’ children, they should first have to train chickens to do something…… as they ONLY work on positive rewards and kindness (which kids respond to best too!)

I think the book writer could have added RABBITS too to her text !!

Well done – the hard work is done the “trust” learning curve should rocket upwards now….

She must have done a dozen sets of binkies over a couple of hours, with lots of half twists, and the happy flollop roll in between some of them

all she needs now is too get on with Pippin and Jenny, so they could all be together…

They’d all get more space, as both runs could be combined, and more time out. Hopefully in time!

Gina sort of let me groom her with the brush without having to restrain her. I put some food down in front of me, and although she did swipe at my hand a couple of times, she didn’t hop away. It was admittedly a minimal groom, but she did stay put for it

What fantastic news, well worth the wait I’m sure and even more rewarding because of how long it has taken to win over her trust. She sounds very happy to be getting that affection too

Does anyone else find it interesting that learning curves follow the general trajectory of a binky?
