I have read so many articles on a rabbit recovery time and they all say 7-10 days. One said after 4 days they can come out to play. Thumper has been in his cage since last Friday besides the occasional hops while I clean his cage and you can see it in his face how sad he is and I just want to let him out and be able to run free but I don’t want him getting hurt so any suggestions to when I can let him out?

A rabbit should recover much sooner from a neuter than 10 days to 2 weeks. Since it’s been 5 days from the surgery, I think it would be fine for him to resume his normal out of cage time. You might want to keep him from jumping on anything, but otherwise he should be okay. I never kept my rabbits confined for as long as your vet said, after a neuter or even after a spay, and they were fine. Have you looked at the surgical site, to make sure that he is healing properly? There are usually no problems after surgery, but it’s a good idea to check anyway.
